Begin your global career

Graduate with a Canadian degree and be eligible to apply for a Canadian work permit.

Work during and after your studies

Be eligible to apply to work in Canada during and after your studies*.

After you graduate, you may be eligible to apply for a Canadian work permit. Depending on the amount of time you study at UFV in Canada, you may be eligible to work in Canada for up to three years.*

You can land an on-campus, part-time job that is flexible and built around your class schedule. Working on campus gives you the opportunity to work with UFV Canada faculty and staff while gaining work experience and building up your references.

If you’ve been a full-time student for six months, you may choose to search for an off-campus job. An off-campus job can help you learn more about the workplace, develop new skills, and make valuable connections in the community.

You may prefer to alternate academic studies with paid work terms in a career-related field through UFV’s co-op education program. Not only do you get to earn money and develop contacts, you also graduate with a degree and relevant work experience in your field.

If your main goal is to secure references for other employment or graduate school, get involved with myCampusLife, a UFV program that allows you to gain an official record of your extra-curricular activities, called a co-curricular record. Volunteering looks good on your résumé and is also an excellent way to meet people, help others, learn more about Canadian life, and make your mark in the UFV community.

*You must fulfill all Canadian Post Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) requirements. See the Government of Canada website for more details.
