BIOGRAPHY

Dr. Sonia Gupta joined University of Fraser Valley, Chandigarh in May 2016. She holds a PhD in Applied Mathematics from Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla. Her doctoral research focuses on Elastic-Plastic and Creep behaviour of materials. She has 13 publications in various journals of national and international repute.

With more than 16 years of teaching experience, Dr. Gupta teaches Mathematics and Statistics courses at UFV Chandigarh. Prior to joining UFV, she served as Assistant Professor at the Universities in the Tricity. She holds a degree of M.Sc. Mathematics from H.P. University, Diploma in Information Systems Management from APTECH and B.A. from St.Bede’s College, Shimla.

Dr. Gupta presented a research paper in ‘National Conference on Mathematical Analysis and Applications’, 07-09 Nov. 2000, H.P. University, Shimla. She has conducted a session on “Probability and its Applications” in One Week Faculty Development Programme sponsored by Punjab Technical University at Gian Jyoti Institute of Management and Technology, Mohali. She has participated in various summits/seminars/ conferences and workshops.
